Card Spotlight has now reached the newest set, Radiance, and K’Sante is a great first pick there, as both his Legend, Pride of Nazumah, and his champion card, Dauntless, turn defense into attack.

What his Legend does
For one Energy, you exhaust K’Sante’s Legend to give a friendly unit Assault equal to its Shield for the rest of the turn (Riot Games, n.d.-a). Assault adds Might while a unit attacks, so in practice the Legend takes a unit’s defensive stat and turns it into attacking power. A unit with Shield 2 suddenly hits like it has Assault 2, which is a big deal for something that was only meant to sit there and block.
His champion card
K’Sante, Dauntless carries Shield himself, gaining Might whenever he’s defending, and whenever he attacks or defends he doubles the Shield on a unit you control at his battlefield, including himself (Riot Games, n.d.-a).

Why the pair matters
These two cards are clearly built to work together, as Dauntless makes Shield bigger and the Legend turns Shield into attack. That’s a very literal take on Radiance’s theme of performing at your peak under pressure (Riot Games, 2026), where a K’Sante deck gets stronger on offense the more it invests in defense. Exactly how the timing of a doubled Shield and the Legend’s Assault interact will depend on the final rulings, so I’d hold off on big combo claims until release.
He has a second champion card in the set as well, K’Sante, Courageous, with Shield 2, Accelerate and the ability to channel a rune when he holds a battlefield (Riot Games, n.d.-a). With Shield 2 built in, he’s a natural target for the Legend. It’s a bit like a tank in an MMO who suddenly deals damage like a damage dealer, which is exactly why people will want to build around him.
The Overnumbered version
Like all nine new Legends, Pride of Nazumah also comes in an Overnumbered alternate art version, which can also be found with an artist’s signature (Riot Games, 2026). The standard card is by Envar Studio, and the Overnumbered version is a close-up by Valentine Tran.

In League of Legends
K’Sante, the Pride of Nazumah
Tank / Fighter · Shurima
In League of Legends, K’Sante is a warrior-hunter who defends Nazumah, a prized oasis city-state in Shurima, against colossal beasts and the ruthless Ascended. His story is about pride: after a falling-out with his former partner, he has to learn to temper his drive to be the best before it becomes his downfall (Riot Games, n.d.-b).
From the Rift to the table
The Legend card carries his exact League of Legends title, Pride of Nazumah, and his champion card’s name, Dauntless, echoes his League passive, Dauntless Instinct (Riot Games, n.d.-a; Riot Games, n.d.-b). The flavor text on Dauntless is basically a rallying cry, which suits a character whose story is all about pride. And just like in League, where he’s a tank who soaks up punishment and gives it back, his cards make defense the thing that powers his attacks. His full story is on his official League of Legends champion page.
One to watch
We won’t know how good K’Sante really is until Radiance releases on October 23 and real decks get built, but the first chance to see him in action comes at the Pre-Rift events from October 16. For the rest of the set, start with my Radiance reveal, and you’ll find every Legend we’ve covered on the Cards page. I’m especially curious whether the doubled Shield plan holds up once people start attacking into it, and next up is Darius, who is all about momentum.
It are what it are.
