Some Legends care about how big your units are, but Miss Fortune, Bounty Hunter cares about where they are, and that makes her one of the more interesting Legends in Origins.

What her Legend does

Miss Fortune’s Legend costs nothing but an exhaust, and it gives a unit Ganking for the turn, which lets it move straight from one battlefield to another (Riot Games, n.d.-a). Normally that kind of movement is a keyword you have to build a whole deck around, but with her any unit can suddenly show up where your opponent least wants it. It’s a bit like a football team switching flanks mid-game while the defence is still looking the other way.

Her champion cards

Miss Fortune, Captain has Accelerate and Ganking, and the first time she moves each turn you may ready something else that’s exhausted. Miss Fortune, Buccaneer can be played directly to an open battlefield, and so can your other units while she’s around (Riot Games, n.d.-a).

Why it matters

Put the three together and you get a deck that controls the map. Buccaneer skips the walk entirely and the Legend lets units reposition, while Captain rewards you for moving at all.

The line I’m most curious about is Captain’s ability to ready “something else” that’s exhausted, and an exhausted Legend counts as something. On paper, she could ready Miss Fortune’s Legend after it has already handed out Ganking, so it can do it again. I’d check that against the rules before building around it, but it’s exactly the kind of tempo play this deck is about.

In League of Legends

Miss Fortune, the Bounty Hunter

Marksman · Bilgewater

Sarah Fortune is a Bilgewater captain, famous for her looks and feared for her ruthlessness. As a child, she watched the reaver king Gangplank murder her family, and years later she took her revenge by blowing up his flagship with him aboard. Anyone who underestimates her is in for an unpredictable opponent (Riot Games, n.d.-b).

From the Rift to the table

Her Legend keeps her League title, Bounty Hunter, and the focus on movement mirrors how she plays in League, where Strut lets her reposition before she unloads a hail of bullets. A captain who decides where the fight happens is a natural fit. You can read her full story on her official League of Legends champion page.
