Ezreal, Prodigal Explorer is a tricks Legend, and his plan only works when you keep choosing targets.

What his Legend does
Ezreal’s Legend is a Reaction that draws a card, but with a condition. You exhaust him to draw one card, and you can only do it if you’ve chosen enemy units and/or gear twice this turn with spells or unit abilities (Riot Games, n.d.-a). That rewards you for being active, and because it’s a Reaction you can use it on your opponent’s turn as well.
His champion cards
Ezreal, Dashing deals damage equal to his Might to an enemy unit at his battlefield when he attacks or defends, and he doesn’t deal combat damage himself. For one Mind Power he can also move back to your base. Ezreal, Prodigy makes you discard one card and draw two when you play him, and your optional additional costs cost one Energy or one Power less (Riot Games, n.d.-a).

Why it matters
Dashing is a clever little card, as he snipes an enemy from a distance and then slips home for a Mind Power, so he’s hard to pin down. Prodigy filters your hand and makes your optional costs cheaper, which helps you reach the two targets the Legend needs. It’s like an adventurer who shoots from range and teleports away before anyone can answer.
My take is that this is a deck that is going to feel great when it works and awkward when it doesn’t, as it needs you to line up two targets in a single turn.
At the Regional Qualifiers
Ezreal has been consistent without breaking through. He had 45 players in Los Angeles, 46 in Singapore and 59 in Barcelona, and his best finishes were 37th, 13th and 23rd. He sent 11 players into Day 2 in Los Angeles, 8 in Singapore and 16 in Barcelona (Riot Games, 2026a, 2026b, 2026c).
These numbers are from before Radiance released, so they show the old meta. You can browse every Ezreal list on the Decks & meta page.
The Overnumbered version
The standard Legend is by Pandart Studio, and the Overnumbered alternate art is by Grafit Studio (Riot Games, n.d.-a).

Marksman / Mage · Piltover
Ezreal is a dashing adventurer who is more powerful than he knows, and he has spent his life exploring ancient ruins and long-lost places (Riot Games, n.d.-b).
From the Rift to the table
Ezreal is a dashing explorer in League, and Dashing is the name of his champion card, which can move him back to your base a bit like his Arcane Shift ability. The Legend carries his League title, Prodigal Explorer (Riot Games, n.d.-a; Riot Games, n.d.-b). His full story is on his official League of Legends champion page.
If you like clever tricks, our Teemo Spotlight is the Hidden cards version of the same idea, and every Spotlight so far is on the Cards page. Next up is Lucian, who turns every Equipment into an attacker.
It are what it are.
