Not every Legend wants to rush the board. Kai’Sa, Daughter of the Void is for players who love spells, and especially for anyone who has ever wished for one more Power at exactly the right moment.

What her Legend does
Kai’Sa’s Legend gives you one extra Power, but only for playing spells, and it works as a Reaction, so you can use it on your opponent’s turn too (Riot Games, n.d.-a). It’s a small boost, but in most cases a spell that arrives a turn earlier, or one you can cast in response to something, is what swings a game.
Her champion cards
Kai’Sa, Survivor has Accelerate and draws a card whenever she conquers a battlefield. Kai’Sa, Evolutionary has Ganking, and when she conquers you may replay a spell from your trash without paying its Energy cost, as long as that cost is less than your current points (Riot Games, n.d.-a).

Why it matters
All three cards push the same plan, which is to cast spells, conquer and repeat. The Legend helps you cast and Survivor refills your hand, while Evolutionary gets better as the game goes on, because the more points you have, the stronger the spells she can bring back from your trash.
Early in the game she works as a card-draw engine, and later on she’s basically a free spell every time she conquers. It’s a bit like a fighting game character building a super meter, where the longer the match goes, the scarier the next move gets.
The Overnumbered version
The standard Legend is by Kudos Productions, and the Overnumbered alternate art is by Jason Chan (Riot Games, n.d.-a).

In League of Legends
Kai’Sa, Daughter of the Void
Marksman · The Void
Claimed by the Void as a child, Kai’Sa survived through sheer tenacity and strength of will. Living in an uneasy symbiosis with a Void carapace, she has become a deadly hunter, and must eventually decide whether to forgive the people who call her a monster and fight the coming darkness alongside them, or let it take the world that left her behind (Riot Games, n.d.-b).
From the Rift to the table
The names do a lot of the work here. Survivor is the core of her story, and Evolutionary nods to how she plays in League, where her abilities evolve as she grows stronger over a match, which is exactly what her Evolutionary card captures. You can read her full story on her official League of Legends champion page.
If you want to see a completely different approach, our Miss Fortune Spotlight is a good one to read next, and every Spotlight so far is on the Cards page. Next up is K’Sante, the first Radiance Legend in the series, who turns defense into attack.
It are what it are.
