What her Legend does
Whenever you stun one or more enemy units, Leona’s Legend buffs one of your own (Riot Games, n.d.-a). A stunned unit doesn’t deal combat damage that turn, so every stun already wins you part of a fight, and with Leona it also makes your side permanently stronger.
Her champion cards
Leona, Determined has Shield and stuns an enemy unit at her battlefield whenever she attacks. Leona, Zealot enters ready if an opponent is within 3 points of winning, and stunned enemy units at her battlefield get -8 Might, though never below 1 (Riot Games, n.d.-a).
Why it matters
Determined is the engine, as every attack she makes stuns something and that triggers the Legend’s buff. Zealot is the emergency brake, built for the moment your opponent is about to win, when she arrives ready and any unit you’ve stunned at her battlefield is reduced to almost nothing.
If you enjoyed how Lee Sin spreads buffs in our Lee Sin Spotlight, Leona gets to the same place through stuns instead. It’s a bit like a boxing combination, where the jab that stuns is only there to set up the punch that actually lands.

Imbued with the fire of the sun, Leona is a holy warrior of the Solari who defends Mount Targon with her Zenith Blade and the Shield of Daybreak. Her skin shimmers with starfire and her eyes burn with the power of the celestial Aspect within her, and she brings enlightenment to some and death to others (Riot Games, n.d.-b).
From the Rift to the table
Her Legend keeps her League title, Radiant Dawn, and her signature stun translates directly, as in League her Shield of Daybreak stuns whoever she strikes, which is exactly what her Determined card does on the attack. Her full story is on her official League of Legends champion page.
