Lucian, Purifier is the aggressive Equipment Legend, as every piece of gear you attach makes your attackers hit harder.

What his Legend does

Lucian’s Legend turns every Equipment into a source of Assault. Each one gives its unit Assault, which is +1 Might while that unit is attacking (Riot Games, n.d.-a). In practice any unit carrying gear becomes an attacker, so Equipment is not only about buffs and defense here, it’s about offense.

His champion cards

Lucian, Gunslinger has Assault, and when he attacks he deals damage equal to his Assault to an enemy unit at that battlefield. Lucian, Merciless has Weaponmaster, and the first time he conquers each turn he readies (Riot Games, n.d.-a).

Why it matters

Compared to the Equipment decks of Jax and Ornn, which are about value, this one is about pressure. The Legend stacks Assault, and Gunslinger turns that Assault into direct damage, so every piece of gear you attach makes the next attack hurt more. It’s a bit like a shooter game where every attachment you add makes the next shot count.

My guess is that Lucian wants fast pressure, as Merciless rewards you for conquering every single turn.

At the Regional Qualifiers

Lucian has been steady without breaking through. He had 36 players in Los Angeles, 25 in Singapore and 27 in Barcelona, and his best finishes were 25th, 41st and 25th. He sent 5 players into Day 2 in both Los Angeles and Singapore (Riot Games, 2026a, 2026b, 2026c).

These numbers are from before Radiance released, so they show the old meta. All of our Lucian lists are on the Decks & meta page.

In League of Legends

Lucian, the Purifier

Marksman · Demacia

Lucian is a Sentinel of Light who hunts the undead with his twin relic pistols. After the wraith Thresh killed his wife, Senna, he has been driven by a relentless quest for vengeance (Riot Games, n.d.-b).

From the Rift to the table

Lucian is a gunslinger in League, and Gunslinger is the name of his champion card, which fits a man who deals damage every time he attacks. Merciless suits his relentless hunt, and the Legend carries his League title, Purifier (Riot Games, n.d.-a; Riot Games, n.d.-b). His full story is on his official League of Legends champion page.

If you like Equipment decks, our Jax Spotlight is the value version of the same idea, and every Spotlight so far is on the Cards page. Next up is Renata Glasc, who turns holding battlefields into Gold.

It are what it are.
