Renata Glasc, Chem-Baroness is an economy Legend, as she turns every battlefield you hold into Gold and the Gold into something much bigger.

What her Legend does

Renata’s Legend is all about Gold. When you or an ally hold a battlefield, you may exhaust her to play an exhausted Gold gear token, and while your score is within 3 points of the Victory Score, your Gold adds an additional Energy (Riot Games, n.d.-a). So the deck gets richer the longer you hold the ground, and it gets a bonus right when the game is close to ending.

Her champion cards

Renata Glasc, Mastermind has abilities that only work while she’s at a battlefield. You can pay one Energy and one Mind Power to draw a card, or pay four Energy and four Mind Power and exhaust her to score a point. Renata Glasc, Industrialist makes your tokens enter ready (Riot Games, n.d.-a).

Why it matters

Gold is a token, so Industrialist means every Gold you make can be used right away, and Mastermind is the place where all that spare resource turns into points or cards. It’s a bit like the economy in a strategy game, where the plan is to out-earn your opponent first and spend it all at the right moment.

My take is that the cost of Mastermind’s point ability is huge, so this is a deck for long games where you hold battlefields and the opponent can’t break you.

At the Regional Qualifiers

Renata Glasc has had a hard time so far. She had 24 players in Los Angeles, 21 in Singapore and 15 in Barcelona, and none of them made it to Day 2, with best finishes at 567th, 311th and 420th (Riot Games, 2026a, 2026b, 2026c).

That tells me the deck was still looking for its best build, and these numbers are from before Radiance released, so they show the old meta. You can browse every Renata list on the Decks & meta page.

The Overnumbered version

The standard Legend is by Pandart Studio, and the Overnumbered alternate art is by Envar Studio (Riot Games, n.d.-a).

In League of Legends

Renata Glasc, the Chem-Baroness

Support · Zaun

Renata Glasc rose from the ashes of her childhood home to become a Chem-Baroness of Zaun, with a chemtech empire and a lot of influence over the city (Riot Games, n.d.-b).

From the Rift to the table

The Legend carries her League title, Chem-Baroness, and Industrialist fits someone who built an empire out of chemtech. The whole deck is about money and control, which is exactly how she is portrayed (Riot Games, n.d.-a; Riot Games, n.d.-b). Her full story is on her official League of Legends champion page.

If you like decks that run on resources, our Ornn Spotlight shows another one, and every Spotlight so far is on the Cards page. Next up is Sivir, who also makes Gold, but does it by recycling runes.

It are what it are.
