Every pit needs a boss, and Sett, The Boss is about keeping your fighters alive and punching harder than anyone else.

What his Legend does
When one of your buffed units would die, Sett’s Legend lets you pay one Power and exhaust him to save it, as the unit spends its buff and returns to your base exhausted instead of dying. Whenever you conquer a battlefield the Legend readies again, so it can do it again (Riot Games, n.d.-a).
His champion cards
Sett, Brawler buffs himself when he’s played and whenever he conquers, and he can spend that buff for +4 Might in a single turn. Sett, Kingpin is a Tank who gets +1 Might for every buffed friendly unit at his battlefield (Riot Games, n.d.-a).

Why it matters
Buffs are the currency of a Sett deck, as they make Kingpin bigger and let Brawler throw a huge punch, while the Legend turns them into an extra life. Conquering keeps the whole engine running, because it both readies the Legend and re-buffs Brawler.
If you liked the buff plans in our Lee Sin Spotlight and our Leona Spotlight, Sett is the one who protects that investment. It’s a bit like a video game boss who keeps getting back up with a sliver of health left.
The Overnumbered version
The standard Legend is by Envar Studio, and the Overnumbered alternate art is by Gem Lim (Riot Games, n.d.-a).

In League of Legends
Sett, the Boss
Fighter / Tank · Ionia
A leader of Ionia’s growing criminal underworld, Sett rose to prominence after the war with Noxus. He began as a humble challenger in the fighting pits of Navori, quickly becoming known for his savage strength and his ability to take seemingly endless punishment. Having climbed through the ranks, he now rules over the very pits he once fought in (Riot Games, n.d.-b).
From the Rift to the table
Sett’s cards read like his biography. The Boss and Kingpin come straight from his place at the top of Ionia’s underworld, and his Legend’s knack for keeping fighters alive fits a champion famous for taking a beating and still standing. His full story is on his official League of Legends champion page.
If you want the sneaky version of a Legend that keeps coming back, our Teemo Spotlight is a good read, and every Spotlight so far is on the Cards page. Next up is Yasuo, the last of the twelve Origins Legends, who is all about movement.
It are what it are.
